As September draws to a close, we’re all about embracing Autumn and immersing ourselves into new activities such as Oktoberfest. The Venue Bar & Kitchen is playing host to an epic Oktoberfest event next weekend, and dare we say it’s shaping up to be one of the best in Huddersfield.
Before we tell you about our Oktoberfest event, let’s catch up on this century old event and how it originated…

What is Oktoberfest?

Oktoberfest is a traditional Bavarian festival based in Munich every year, dating back to 1810. Originally held to honour the marriage of Prince Ludwig and Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen, it transformed into a celebration of the Bavarian culture, beer, and fun, with over a million people taking part in the celebrations every year.
It is now a worldwide event that brings communities together to celebrate culture and to try new beers.

What about Oktoberfest at The Venue?

Starting from 7pm on the 1st of October, you can join us for beer, bratwursts, and live music. We’ll be hosting a traditional Bavarian live band and serving the famous Bratwurst and pretzels that you will find at many formal German events. Not only will you get to experience this extraordinary cultural event right here in Huddersfield, but you’ll also get a free stein of beer as well. Not bad for a £15 ticket!
Now what’s the difference between a stein and your average pint of beer? Your stein is a massive mug shaped cup, equipped with a hinged lid and level for your thumb. It’s the kind of glass you’ll see swinging around in films and on TV – something you’d share on your Instagram Story!
Don’t worry if you’re not a fan of beer, we’ve still got our fully stocked bar and cocktail pouches to keep you going through the night.
Tickets to The Venue Bar and Kitchen’s Oktoberfest event in Huddersfield are available here, and they’re selling fast so don’t miss out.
